David Nunan Joins GlobalEnglishTM as Senior Academic Advisor

Daly City, CA, June 6, 2000 — GlobalEnglishTM Corporation today announced it has named Professor David Nunan senior academic advisor for GlobalEnglish.com, the popular Web portal for teaching and learning English. A worldrenowned linguist, author and scholar, Nunan is the director and chair of applied linguistics at The University of Hong Kong and recently served as president of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, Inc. (TESOL), the world’s largest professional organization for English language teachers.

His textbook series include Atlas, Listen In, Speak Out, and Go For It!, all published by Heinle & Heinle. He earned his Ph.D. in applied linguistics from Flinders University in Australia. Nunan resides in Hong Kong and is on the faculty of both Newport Asia Pacific University and The University of Hong Kong.
